Official: Calls from WhatsApp soon to iPhone
Apple iPhone users will be able to make telephone calls using WhatsApp for "several weeks", co-founder of the famous communication application said.
This is the first time that WhatsApp has confirmed a new feature, which has been available on Android since the beginning of the month, but that the same will now come in iOS devices.
WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton spoke during the conference for Facebook developers - F8, where he appeared on stage with Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger.
IPhone users will be able to make telephone calls using a technology called Voice over Internet Protocol, or VoIP.
The news comes as WhatsApp became the second application on Android that is not built by Google and has reached a billion downloads in the Play Store earlier this year.
